Daltex® Fusion is polypropylene/polyethylene, sheath/core bicomponent spunbond nonwoven.
The polyethylene sheath provides exceptional softness and a lower melt point, while the polypropylene core provides durability, strength and improved abrasion resistance. With increased filament density, the nonwoven opacity is significantly improved over standard polyethylene spunbond.
Weight Range: 20 – 110 g/m2
Key Features:
- Increased strength to weight ratio
- Strength is broadly equivalent to a standard spunbond that is 50% heavier
- Isotropic properties over 50 g/m2 are achieved without sacrificing MD strength
Benefits:
-
Increase in strength and increased
filament distribution can enable weight reduction -
Polypropylene core increases the strength and durability of the nonwoven when compared to standard PE spunbond
-
Low melt polyethylene sheath allows
improved downstream lamination or bonding capabilities
