After the tufting process, where tufts are stitched into primary backing, carpets can receive a secondary process to provide increased pile-yarn stability. The secondary carpet backing is affixed to the primary carpet backing using an adhesive, which helps increase the stability of the carpet structure.

Lobac^® is a polypropylene lenoweave use to provide additional support to tufted carpets and is the perfect alternative to jute backing. Created to have an air-texturised weft, Lobac^® increases bulk and improves pre-coat absorption.

Standard colours include white, tan or brown. Upon request, coloured warp designs can also be incorporated into the backing for branding or to improve aesthetics.
